Got A Late Check-In? Here’s How To Make The Most Of Your First Day In New York City

A lot of our customers from West Coast fly the red-eye into New York City, arriving super early in the morning. In theory this is a win, because they get in a full day of sightseeing in on their first day, but what happens when you can’t check-in to your hotel or Airbnb before 3 pm?

You come to City CoPilot! Here’s our step-by-step guide to have an amazing New York City adventure after an early arrival or before a late check-in.

  1. Pre-book your transportation from the airport with City CoPilot. It’s the best price in town. Go here to reserve with our exclusive discount.
  2. Store your luggage at one of our three locations in NYC.
  3. Once your luggage is securely stored at City CoPilot, it’s time for fun! Here are our recommendations:
    • One World Observatory.  The 360-degree view of Manhattan is the best view in town. It takes less than 30 minutes to get to the Observatory from all City CoPilot locations:
      • From the Lower East Side, walk to the Essex Street subway station located at Essex and Delancey Streets. Take the J Train going towards Broad Street and get off at the Fulton Street Station. It’s less than a 10-minute walk from the station to the Observatory.
      • From Brooklyn: take the J Train at the Hewes Street station heading towards Manhattan and get off at the Fulton Street station.
      • From Times Square, head to the 50th Street subway station and catch the downtown E Train to World Trade Center, then get off at the Chambers Street station.
    • The Oculus. Once you’ve finished at the Observatory, you can take a quick walk to this architectural masterpiece. (No really, it looks like a huge spaceship inside.) There’s also a shopping mall and restaurants nearby.
    • Chinatown. By now, you’re probably going to be hungry so we recommend taking a short walk to historic Chinatown for lunch. The famous Nom Wah Tea Parlor has been around in some form since 1920. It’s been a bakery, kitchen, and now, it’s a dim sum and tea house. It’s still got a vintage vibe. We recommend the fried sesame balls with lotus paste!
    • Little Italy. You need dessert, right? We highly recommend indulging with a cannoli at Ferrara Bakery.
  4. Check-in time! Pick up your luggage at City CoPilot. We’re here for all your concierge needs.

Not So Humble Brag: We’re The Best Luggage Storage, NYC

We have good reason to be confident about our luggage storage in NYC.

City CoPilot has served guests in downtown Manhattan since 2014, and just last month we opened a second location to serve tourists’ bag storage demand in midtown Manhattan. This means we now a sizable chunk of Manhattan, from Hell’s Kitchen all the down to Chinatown. (And we’re expanding to even more places soon! Stay tuned.)

Unlike some other places, we actually store luggage and suitcases securely and orderly, behind THE WALL (and not piled up within easy grabbing distance).

Here’s how we can back up our luggage storage swagger:

Hey Manhattan, There’s New Midtown Luggage Storage

Did you hear the news? City CoPilot opened a new location in the heart of Manhattan at 777 8th Avenue. The Times Square store provides the same safe, secure midtown luggage storage and key exchange as the Lower East Side store, except package acceptance).

We’re especially proud to open up in Hell’s Kitchen because we have something our other baggage storage competitors in midtown NYC don’t have: a WALL. You’ve met the one on Allen Street, now meet The Wall on 8th Avenue:

It’s a simple concept, right? A WALL. A wall protects your precious cargo from thieves and the elements, unlike (cough cough) our competition in the area that stores bags and suitcases on shelves in full sight of street traffic, or worse, splayed out on the floor within grabbing distance.

With our new luggage storage space in the center of Manhattan, you buy peace of mind knowing our trusted CoPilot will tag your possessions until you’re ready to pick them up for a reasonable price, and that they’re resting comfortably and securely behind The Wall.

We’re Opening A New Storefront!

HUGE NEWS: City CoPilot is expanding to Times Square! Above is a sneak peek of the new storefront located inside the Gray Line Visitor Center at 777 8th Avenue (in between 47th and 48th Streets) opening August 8th.

We can’t wait to serve Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown Manhattan the same trusted front desk services as our Lower East Side storefront: luggage storage, key exchange, cleans, airport transportation, and…

The new storefront is literally INSIDE the best sightseeing and Broadway ticket purchasing spot in the city, so NYC tourists who use City CoPilot Times Square can take care of everything they need for their trip in our convenient new location. We’re pretty psyched about it.

Stay tuned — we’re only going to keep growing!
