Pierpont Morgan, but today it can be enjoyed by everyone.

The Morgan Library & Museum bag policy

Given the delicate nature of this museum’s collection, there are some restrictions as to what can be brought inside. The library's code of contact details guest expectation such as, if you have an umbrella it has to be kept inside a bag. Although your visit will be solemn, you can appreciate the importance and beauty of this landmark. Admire two of the biggest manmade waterfalls in North America, flowing into a reflection pool spanning almost an acre.

National September 11 Memorial & Museum bag policy

According the museum's health and safety guidelines, if you visit the memorial museum will be asked to store big bags, umbrellas, backpacks, and other objects the museum considers unsafe for guests and the exhibits, as well as items exceeding 19’’ x 17’’ x 8’’. Guests go through a security screening, so having the least amount of things on you as possible is ideal. Stop by one of our luggage storage spots to leave any unnecessary belongings.

If you'd rather take the road less traveled for a quiet day, take a look at our guide to non-touristy things to do in New York for some inspiration.

Are there luggage lockers in NYC?

The short answer is yes, there are! Luggage lockers are available at certain tourist attractions. For example, there are lockers available for you to use on Liberty Island when you go to visit the Statue of Liberty. With a 25-cent deposit, you can have access to the locker for up to 2 hours.

But be careful — make sure you always check the bag policy of the tourist attraction before you visit. For the Statue of Liberty, you'll need to take a ferry over to the island, and those ferries don't allow luggage or carry-on cases of any kind onto the boat. Plus, while there are luggage lockers on Liberty Island, there are none available at the dock.

When it comes to using public lockers to store your bags in, these are few and far between these days in NYC. But that's not a problem — our New York luggage storage locations work in the same way as luggage storage lockers, but you'll get to have a dedicated Bounce partner to watch over your belongings rather than leaving them unattended in a public space, whether you're at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Midtown Manhattan, or Newark Airport.

At Bounce, we have more than 300 affordable luggage storage options across New York. Wherever you are in the city, you'll be able to find one of our partner locations near you.

Layover in New York? Explore the city luggage free

New York City has tourist attractions galore, and you can spend days here and only see a small portion of what it has to offer. Even if you’re just flying into the city on a layover and only have a few hours to spare, make the most of your time here and do some sightseeing.

Nearby attractions will change depending on which airport you fly into, but NYC’s reliable public transit service makes it easy to get into the city center. Here’s how to get from the airport to the heart of town where all the fun begins.

Luggage storage near John F. Kennedy International Airport

Lots of people fly into the JFK Airport to get to NYC or as a layover to another destination, and it’s super easy to get from here to the city center. Just hop on the AirTrain which leaves directly from JFK; it will bring you to Jamaica Station in no time. From here, you can use the trains to get anywhere that you desire. Tickets for the AirTrain are priced around $8.25. If you’re headed to downtown New York, there is an additional $3.00 fee.

Want somewhere to leave your bags while you explore NYC? Instead of waiting in lines at the airport baggage storage, stop by one of our secure locations. We have a spot right next to Jamaica Station, just 20 minutes transit from the airport.

Luggage storage near Newark Liberty International Airport

Perhaps you landed at Newark Airport. No problem, there’s an express bus that can take you straight into the city and is active 365 days a year. The bus stops at 3 major locations; Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Tickets start at $18.00 one way or $30.00 for a round trip. The AirTrain also runs from the airport, offering a less expensive transit option at $8.25 per ticket.

If you want to keep your things nearby but don’t want to carry them around, check out some of our affordable storage spots by the airport. The closest one is only 2.21 miles away, and we have even more locations close to where the bus stops.

Luggage storage near LaGuardia Airport

Although the AirTrain isn’t an option for getting from LaGuardia Aiport to NYC, there’s another fast and convenient way of getting around. The LaGuardia Link Q70 is a bus service that’ll take you to Jackson Heights in Queens where you’ll have access to several subway lines. The best part? The bus service is free!

Don’t worry about where you’ll keep your bags during your layover. We have plenty of vetted partner locations just a little ways away from the airport, with the closest one taking less than 15 minutes to reach on foot.
